My 2009 Sony Vaio laptop has yet to have a problem until now. Randomly the laptop will keep shutting down?

I don’t know why it’s shutting down, it’s just sitting on the desk it’s not over heating. And it doesn’t go down all the way, I push the power button and it comes back on but it keeps blacking out. I’m worried this problem will persist and I can’t have this happen once school starts.

What could the problem be?
Who could fix it?
And how much would it cost?

Thank you.

It could be many things. Have you considered checking if your computer has viruses on it? Scan it to make sure. Clean out your registries along with a defrag should help. If that doesn’t help the problem, take it to a computer repair store if you don’t have the warranty anymore and see what they say. The cost would depend on the person repairing the computer.

Theres also a slight chance the laptop charger is defective and is short circuiting the laptop forcing it to shut down. You should also see if a replacement will fix your problem.

I would like to suggest you purchasing from http://www.topmic.com/ like I did in the past. They provide shipping and lifetime warranties for free, as well as a 30 day refund period. They aren’t the cheapest online store but their service makes up for the few extra bucks.

If you have any further laptop questions, feel free to ask. I’ll do my best to help out.
Once again: http://www.topmic.com/

You can look up the laptop brand, model, and model number on the top right or search it on the top left.
Best of luck.
