My mom got an Acer laptop that she likes however it doesnt come with microsoft word, how do i get word?

I DO NOT WANT TO BUY OFFICE 2007 for $150 just for word, thats is a joke….. Laptop: runs vista home basic Word: she would prefer 2002 edition however whatever is reallly cheap or downloadable would be acceptable.. THANKS IN ADVANCED!
